Carly O’Connell, LLC

Neurodivergent and Queer Trauma Therapist

I’m here to help you get free from shame, be your true self, and find acceptance.

  • Things are feeling like too much.  You’ve been struggling with so much shame, anxiety, and feeling lost.  You’re so frustrated with yourself and don’t know why you just can’t be normal.  You really don’t know why you feel or act the way you do sometimes.

There’s been a lot of things lately making it worse too: maybe it’s a major life event like moving away to college, a break up, maybe a trauma you experienced or the current state of the world.  Whatever is causing things to get worse, they are and you want to do something before things get too far out of control.

You want to work on it, you just don’t even know where to start.  All you want is to be able to be yourself and to feel good about it.  You’d love to feel accepted by the people in your life too.  You want to understand yourself, why you are the way that you are, and how to be yourself in a world that inherently doesn’t understand you.  That’s where I come in.

  • I specialize in helping older adolescents and adults who are neurodivergent, queer, have been through trauma, or are experiencing issues with sex and relationships, including compulsive sexual behaviors.  I understand because I've faced my own challenges, and I've dedicated my life to helping others through theirs. You don't have to do this alone.

I can help you overcome the shame and anxiety you’re experiencing in order to be your true self and feel loved and accepted for it.

  • I have training in trauma-focused, relational, and somatic therapy as well as inner-child work.

I graduated from Capella University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Limited Counselor in the State of Michigan.
